WEIJA GBAWE HOLDS ITS MAIDEN FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MEETING

The Finance and Administration sub-Committee of the Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 25th June, 2025 held its first meeting at the Assembly’s Conference Room at Weija. The meeting began with formalities and election of the Chairperson for the Committee. Nominations and voting process saw Hon. Bright Adabra elected as the Chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee.

 

Hon Adabra accepting his role and presiding over the Committee outlined the Committees focus, key initiatives, discussions on strategies to mobilize revenue and future goals.

 

The secretary of the committee represented by Wilson Adaday, took the committee through their core function. In his introduction, the Finance and Administration sub-Committee of the MMDAs in Ghana plays a crucial role in managing the Financial Resources and Administrative functions of the Assembly. Mr. Adadey, continue and outlined the functions of the Finance and Administrative subcommittee members

  2. Budget preparation and mentorship
  3. Economical Compliance
  4. Supporting Donor-formed project
  5. General Administrative functions

In conclusion, Finance and Administrative subcommittee acts as the Finance and Administrative arm of the Assembly ensuring that the Assembly operates effectively and efficiently within the bounds of the law.
