The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA) and some communities have embarked on a clean-up in the municipality.
The clean-up exercise was carried out on Thursday, 25th August 2022.
A directive from the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, signed by the Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey (MP), slated the day for the exercise.
The Municipal Assembly, led by the Chief Executive, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, supported by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe, the Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Madam Mariama Braimah,  and staff engaged in the clean-up at the Mallam junction.
The MCE, later went on an inspection tour of other electoral areas to see the extent of the exercise.
He observed that, but for a few areas, most people did not observe the day as directed.
Hon. Kumor expressed the hope that, in consultation with Assembly Members and other stakeholders, a new date when fixed, would draw out the numbers for a total clean-up.
He commended the people in areas where the cleaning took place.
