Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has welcomed its newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey. His appointment was announced by President John Dramani Mahama in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama , Ph.D.

Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey was subsequently confirmed unanimously by the Assembly members on Monday, 12th of May 2025.

At the introduction ceremony which was held at the assembly hall of the Municipal Assembly on the 15th of May, 2025, chaired by the MCD, Mr. Bernard Mats Yingura. Director Yingura officially introduced Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey to the heads of departments/units present as our newly confirmed MCE.

During the meeting, the heads of departments/units in the municipal Assembly introduced themselves and their various offices. Some department heads also seized the opportunity to voice out some challenges they are facing in their offices.

The newly elected MCE, in his welcome address, thanked everyone for their support and promised to work hand in hand for the progress of Weija Gbawe and to make the Assembly stand as one of the best Assemblies in Ghana.

As the new MCE, Hon. Lamptey is expected to work closely with the management of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly to drive development initiatives, improve infrastructure, and enhance public services. His leadership will be crucial in addressing key challenges within the municipality and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, of which he has promised to do.
