The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly was adjudged the most outstanding assembly in sanitation on March 1, 2024 at the National District Awards, 2024 by the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) in collaboration with the Millenium Excellence Foundation and other partners.

The award ceremony held at the Accra City Hall was dubbed, ‘’Recognizing, Transparency, Accountability and Evidence-based decision of the National District Level’’ to showcase the foundation’s commitment in celebrating outstanding leadership and excellence in governance.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Michael Danquah, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku, the Presiding Member, Mr. Wilfred Ayitey Blankson and other staff members took the award on the Assembly’s behalf.
