On Monday, 16th October, 2023, the Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly were crowned leaders of the first ever Public Financial Management Compliance League Table for MMDAs in Ghana for the year 2023.

Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) are required by laws to mobilize resources necessary for the development of basic infrastructure and provision of works and services in their Districts in addition to their deliberative, legislative and executive functions.

Through the able leaderships of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, Madam Vida Awuku, Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Finance and Administrative team, the Internal Audit team, Staff of the Municipal Assembly, Weija-Gbawe came atop amongst all the 261 MMDAs in the country by scoring a total of 59.00% for compliance of the Public Financial Management.

The result also meant that in the Greater Accra Region, WGMA was ranked as the best amongst the 29 MMDAs in the region
