General Assembly Meeting Held In Weija-Gbawe

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor has stated that security in the municipality is relatively calm in the aftermath of the December general elections.

 

He said, however, the security services will remain vigilant as the festive season approaches.

 

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE), said these when he delivered the sessional address at the Third Ordinary Meeting of the First Session of the Fourth Assembly held on Tuesday, 22nd December 2020 at the Institute of Technical Supervision (ITS) Hall, Weija.

 

The MCE took the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, on his re-election as the president of the Republic of Ghana for a further four years.

 

He, also, congratulated Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah on her re-election as the Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

 

The address touched on 

the December polls, health, finance, education, public health, and waste management.

 

He spoke about social interventions like support to persons with disabilities and the LEAP programme and disaster management.

 

Hon. Kumor (MCE) enumerated the recommendations of the various committees and said they would be studied for implementation.

 

The re-elected Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Tina Mensah thanked all for the support and cooperation over the period and pledged to cooperate more with the Assembly to bring more development to the municipality.

 

Hon. Emmanuel Oduro Ampaw, the Presiding Member of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, who chaired the General Assembly Meeting, urged all the Assembly Members, Heads of Departments/Units of the Assembly to come together to work towards building the Assembly into a force to reckon with.
