The much-talked-about vehicular bridge over the Densu to connect Old to New Weija will soon be constructed.

The fifty (50) meters span bridge with piers will be constructed by Crystal Plus Engineering Limited, an experienced bridge construction firm.

Patrick Kumor, the Presiding Member, Hon Oduro Ampaw, the Assembly Member for Weija, Hon Ayitey Blankson, and other officials of the Municipal Assembly on Friday, 19th February 2021, the consultant to the project, Ing. Michael Okine, said all the preliminary works have been completed for the actual work to begin.

The managing director of the construction firm, Mr. Ofori Larbi, said his outfit would move equipment to the site in a few days.

He said, the project duration, which is six (6) calendar months, would be met.

Both the Municipal Urban Roads Engineer, Ing. Daniel Sowah, and the Municipal Works Engineer, Ing. William Okpoti, reiterated their commitment to ensuring that the work goes on as scheduled.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) thanked the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah, for the role she has played in securing the project.

He said, the bridge when completed, would ease the vehicular traffic on the main Winneba road and also eliminate the use of canoes by both adults and school children who cross from the Old to the New Weija and vice versa.
