The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has distributed nose masks to all the taxi/ trotro stations in the municipality.
The over two thousand, five hundred (2,500) nose masks were distributed on Monday, 11th May 2020, by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor assisted by divisional and district commanders of the Ghana Police Service.
The nose masks were part of items which include infrared non- contact thermometers, megaphones, and a bale of fabric, received from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) Secretariat.
Presenting the nose masks to the chairmen of the various stations, Hon Patrick Kumor (MCE), urged them to enforce the wearing of the masks in their vehicles.
He tasked them to educate all they interact with on the COVID-19 protocols.
Receiving the nose masks on behalf of the Gbawe-Mallam Station, Mr. David Quartey, Chairman, said drivers were grateful for the gesture and would join in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic by insisting on strict adherence to the protocols.
