Several hours of rain on Saturday, 10th October 2020 has led to the loss of properties running into thousands of cedis.
This came to light when the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Naa Ayele Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor visited some communities affected by the downpour.
Accompanied by the Regional NADMO Director, Hon. Archibold Cobbinah, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Mercy Quansah, officials of the Municipal NADMO, engineers from the Municipal Urban Roads, and a rescue team from the 48 Regiment, the team went to the New Weija areas where the rains had caused a lot of havoc.
In some of the areas visited, the water had reached waist levels making movement impossible.
Some houses were submerged as a result of the unending rain.
The MP and the MCE consoled the affected people and assured them of immediate action to ease the situation.
They, further, spoke of finding a lasting solution to the perennial challenges in the affected areas.
