The Atoom Kwashie Road, popularly called Borla Road, construction is now set to commence.
The road, which has been a topic of discussion for sometime, has been awarded to a new construction firm, First Sky Limited.
During an inspection of the present state of the 1.5 kilometer stretch with the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Mensah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kumor, officials of the Municipal Assembly and the Regional Director of Urban Roads, Miss Adjoa Duku on Thursday, 28th May 2020, the Municipal Roads Engineer, Eng Daniel Sowah introduced the contractors to the team.
Hon Tina Mensah (MP), asked the contractors to expedite action on the road since it was awarded to a contractor who couldn't deliver.
She said the residents are agitated due to the poor nature of the road.
The site engineer of First Sky Limited, Eng Kenneth Ashong, said they are up to the task of completing the project within schedule.
He said his company is aware of the concerns expressed about the road and would not renegade on their pledge to do a first class job.
The team moved to the two other road sites, the Choice area roads and the Onipa ye Bad road, where First Sky Limited would, also, be working simultaneously.
Eng Ashong reiterated the earlier assertion to work on all the three projects and complete them within schedule.
