Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA) has reiterated the need for a culture of maintenance on public properties.
The MCE said this at the commissioning of a twin thirty (30) seater flushable institutional sanitary facility for the Weija Methodist Basic 1&2 on Thursday, 16th February 2023.
The GAMA facility comes with a mechanized borehole and a 1,000 litre reservoir.
The short and impressive ceremony was attended by the Shipi of the Weija stool, Nii Kwao Otu lll, who expressed satisfaction at the facility and asked that a similar one be built for the community.
Mr. Charles Odoom, the Municipal Education Director, welcomed the MCE and his team, made up of the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku, the Planning Officer, Madam Rebecca Awo and the Environmental Health Officer, Madam Olivia Mariama Braimah, to the Weija Methodist Basic School.
The Assembly Member for the Weija Electoral Area, Hon. Wilfred Ayitey Blankson, was so happy that a modern sanitary facility has been replicated on the compound of the Weija Methodist Basic Schools, the first one built at the Weija Presbyterian JHS.
The headteachers of the school, Mr. Daniel Appiah and Mrs. Hilda Ampaw, were so elated that they promised to take very good care of the facility.
In an interview with the media, Hon. Kumor (MCE) said it is his vision to equip the education sector in the municipality to enhance teaching and learning.
