KG AND SANITARY FACILITY COMMISSIONED IN WEIJA-GBAWE

Two short and impressive ceremonies have been held to commission educational and sanitary projects in the Weija-Gbawe municipality.

 

A two-unit kindergarten at the Weija Methodist School and an Institutional Sanitary Facility at the Gonsee Municipal Assembly were out-doored on Tuesday, 25th October 2022.

 

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA), Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor jointly performed the symbolic cutting of tape and official opening.

 

The Deputy Director of the Municipal Education Directorate, Mrs. Barbara Dzikunu, welcomed the dignitaries amid a spice of cultural performances and invited guests to both ceremonies.

 

The Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Andrew Oppong Amoako, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Madam Vida Awuku, Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, and staff of the Municipal Assembly, witnessed the occasion.

 

Some chiefs and elders of both Weija and Gbawe Gonsee were at the commissioning.

 

A District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) funded project, the two-unit kindergarten at Weija with an office and washrooms was built before its scheduled completion date.

 

The Institutional Sanitary Facility at the Gonsee Municipal Assembly (MA) Basic School, completed the eleven-unit 2-storey classroom block commissioned early this year.

 

The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources project, executed by TRENDS Construction, was supervised by the Works Department of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.

 

Both the MP and the MCE were happy with both completed projects and asked for a good maintenance culture.
