Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA) on Friday, 27th January 2023 led a delegation to the funeral of the late Nii Mensah Kwashie II, Chief of Gbawe Gonsee.

In the delegation were the Coordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku, the Internal Auditor, Nii Larbie Mensah VI, Mr. Gabriel Tawiah, Finance Officer and Madam Mariama Braimah, the Environmental Health Officer.

The rest were, Mr. Stephen Ackaah, Senior Budget Analyst, Mr. Julius Sarpei, PRO and Hon. Karl Raymond Brown, a government appointee, all of the Municipal Assembly.

Nii Mensah Kwashie II, 72, died on Wednesday 18th January 2023.

The forecourt of the Gbawe Palace was the venue for the Muslim prayers and rites for the departed chief.

Present were the chief of Gbawe, Nii Boi Kojo ll, the queen mother, Naa Yaaniede ll, other sub-chiefs and elders of the Gbawe stool.

The delegation presented an undisclosed amount to the Imams for prayers for the departed soul.

A date was set for the final funeral rites (adua) of the late chief.
