RELIEF FOR RESIDENTS SOON

The water levels in homes affected by the spillage from the Weija Dam will come down soon.

This is due to completed work at the estuary to pave a passage for the excess water which has caused a lot of havoc in several communities.

The water started flowing into the sea at 5.55am this morning, Tuesday 4th October 2022.

A team made up of the Municipal Chief Executives of both Weija-Gbawe and the Ga South Municipal Assemblies, NADMO, the security services and the chiefs and people of Bortianor, with an excavator, worked throughout the night of Monday, 3rd October 2022 to ensure the completion of the exercise.

Earlier in the day on Monday, the team visited some of the areas affected by the spillage.

Communities like Ada Kope, New Weija, parts of Weija, Oblogo and Tetegu, were partly submerged, with the water levels reaching as high as the waist of an average person.
