Twenty-one (21) persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in the Weija-Gbawe municipality, have benefitted from the District Assembly’s Common Fund (DACF).
The items they received included chest freezers, bales of clothing, an oven and gas cylinder, footwear for sale, and a total amount of GH¢ 2500, amongst other things.
Speaking to the beneficiaries during a brief ceremony, Mrs. Nancy Pertey, the Municipal Social Welfare Director, urged them to make good use of the Ãtems, to better their lives. She added that the items must be handled and managed with care.
Mr. Joshua Addey, a committee member of the Disabled Association also acknowledged the government’s helping hand, lent to the association members.
The MCE, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor also admonished the beneficiaries that managing the current support offered would guarantee more grants from the government.
Hon. Kumor (MCE) presented the beneficiaries with the items.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their joy and thanked the government for extending a helping hand to them.
They promised to put the items to good use for the betterment of their lives and that of the nation.
