The model science-based Senior High School under construction in Weija will soon be completed.
A sod-cutting ceremony was performed on 3rd December 2019 by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
A visit to the site on Tuesday, 25th October 2022 by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA), Hon. Patrick Kumor saw workers busily putting finishing touches to some buildings to be used as classrooms.
They were accompanied by the Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Andrew Oppong Amoako, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Madam Vida Awuku, some Assembly Members, and Heads of Departments of the Municipal Assembly.
ING. Paa Frimpong, the consultant for the project, assured the team of the completion of the SHS on schedule.
The model school, one out of nine nationwide and the only one in the Greater Accra Region, was expected to have been completed in readiness for the 2020/2021 academic year.
The pandemic (COVID-19) of 2020 put the project on hold for almost a year.
The MP and MCE hoped that the vision for the project completion would materialize.
