Engineers of Asona Enterprise Limited, a civil engineering firm, have started geological survey for the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Tetegu.
Ing. Benjamin S. Dadson, Construction Manager, made this known to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA), Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, on Sunday, 30th October 2022.
The contractor had moved to site for preparatory works on the project.
Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) said he was happy that the project has taken off and hoped that the next stage would be expedited to meet its scheduled duration.
On Thursday, 25th August 2022, engineers from the Urban Roads Department, the Municipal Roads Department, Hanson Bridges (Consultant) and Asona Enterprise Limited, met with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA) and outlined a roadmap for the construction of a pedestrian bridge at the Tetegu junction.
Correspondence between the Municipal Assembly and the Urban Roads Department on the need for the project cannot be overemphasized.
The letters to the Urban Roads Department were due to fatalities on the junction, which had claimed lives and maimed others.
A completed pedestrian bridge will halt the series of accidents on the stretch.
