Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly (WGMA), Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, have undertaken a routine inspection tour of some selected projects in the constituency/municipality. The tour, embarked on Wednesday,27th July 2022, was undertaken with some heads of departments of the Municipal Assembly. The Member of Parliament (MP) took the opportunity to donate furniture to both staff and pupils of some public schools. The furniture was made up of fourteen (14) Teachers chairs; Two (2) Headteachers tables; One (1) File drawer cabinet; Two (2) Notice boards; Nine (9) Book shelves; Four (4) Visitors chairs; Thirteen (13) Teachers tables; Ten (10) Library tables; Sixty (60) Library chairs; One hundred (100) Upper Primary dual desks; and One hundred (100) Lower Primary dual desks. Presenting the furniture to the Municipal Education Director, the Honourable Member of Parliament said, her observation during a visit revealed the shortage of furniture in some of the schools. This, she said, prompted her to present the furniture for distribution to the schools. Mr. Charles Odoom, the Municipal Education Director, thanked the MP and the MCE for their thoughtfulness and like the proverbial Oliver Twist, asked for more. The inspection tour took the team to the Gbawe Abattoir where finishing touches are being applied for smooth operations sometime next month. The manager of the site, Dr. Osei Bonsu, took the team round the facility. The Gbawe Zero road construction site was next. Workers of Poly Group Limited, the contractor, were busily constructing 1.5 metre U drains on one side of the road. A GAMA sanitary facility, built at the Gonsee school was, also, inspected. A second seal on the Agape Down road was inspected. The team visited the Sunny Coast/Mayas area where drains had been completed awaiting coal tar on the road. Drains around the Municipal Hospital (Akawe) which are ongoing, were captured. The contractor on the Tetegu town roads, Meraki Royale, who is back on site, promised to complete the project on schedule. The final destination was the Weija Cluster where a Kindergarten block is being constructed. The contractor, Aquila Limited, who welcomed the team, said work is progressing steadily and would, hopefully, be completed in three months. In separate interviews, both Hon. Tina Mensah (MP) and Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) expressed satisfaction and reiterated their commitment to the development of Weija-Gbawe. Julius Sarpei, PRO, Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.
