Three out of six illegal sand winners who were arrested on Thursday, 5th May 2022, have been put before court. The six were arrested at Agape Gonsee, winning sand without a permit, by a taskforce of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Patrick Kumor and a military/police joint patrol team. The three accused persons, Daniel Ofei, Richard Bawa and Frank Tetteh, who appeared before the Weija Magistrate Court presided over by Her Worship Ruby Opoku, were each fined Ghc 2,400.00 and ordered to reclaim the degraded part of the land. The other three, Tuala Ali, Michael Segbefia and Bismarck Oppong, who were absent due to various reasons, are to reappear on Monday, 13th June 2022. Julius Sarpei, PRO, Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.
