HIPS Charity School Handed Over To The Government

The HIPS Charity School, a Swiss Non-profit institution, has been officially handed over to the Government. 

 

Now known as the Weija Municipal Assembly (MA) 3 Basic School, the HIPS Charity School was established about twenty-five years ago by a Swiss national with the help of the chiefs and elders of Weija who donated the land.

 

The official handing over ceremony was attended by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, assisted by the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mrs. Mercy Quansah. 

 

The Municipal Education Director, Mrs Felicia Okai, and other heads of the various units were also present. 

 

The Jaasetse and acting chief of Weija, Nii Boafo Danyinaa Nse, and his elders were not left out. 

 

Handing over the keys of the school to the Education Director, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Patrick Kumor, first thanked the previous owners for their magnanimity in relinquishing control of the facility to the government. 

 

Hon Patrick Kumor (MCE) admonished the head and teachers to strive to maintain the facility and standards set by the previous administration. 

 

Mrs. Felicia Okai promised to keep the facility in good shape at all times. 

 

Nii Boafo Danyinaa Nse in a submission, appealed for some of the chiefs to be part of the board of directors of the Weija MA 3 Basic School. 

 

The dignitaries went around to inspect the classrooms and other facilities in the school.
