One Year in Retrospect - Tour of Project Sites.
A year after he was sworn in as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, together with the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah, on Monday 16th September 2019, undertook a tour of project sites initiated, on course and completed in the municipality.
The projects, numbering in excess of fifteen (15), ranged from drains, roads, culverts, tarred roads, bridges, renovated buildings, school buildings, clinics with staff bungalows, to sanitary facilities.
The MP and the MCE were accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mrs Mercy Quansah, engineers, heads of departments of the Municipal Assembly, other members of staff, the media and some members of some of the communities toured.
The team first inspected the almost completed ultra modern clinic at Tetegu, an initiative of the Member of Parliament, which has two staff bungalows attached. The project duration is one (1) year but is running ahead of schedule.
A eight (8) Unit Classroom Block, also an initiative of the MP, is currently under construction.
At Oblogo MA school and the Weija Prebyterian Primary School where Montessori System Kindergarten blocks are being built, one of the contractors pledged to complete the project ahead of schedule.
Three (3) kilometresof roads and drains in the Gbawe Top Base enclave, was next to be inspected.
The Municipal Urban Roads Engineer, Eng. Daniel Sowah, who briefed the team, said the roads would have a double seal.
The tour, also took the team to Agape Gonsee Down to inspect drains and roads under construction.
Other projects sites included the Gbawe CP/ Telecom roads and drains which are sixty (60) percent complete, an almost completed double culvert at the Mallam Guinness Depot, the renovated two storey classrooms block at the M A basic school at New Gbawe and the Lafa bridge near the VRA Substation at Mallam Kokroko.
A foot bridge under construction at the Chapel Lane in Mallam and the Ultra Modern Sanitary Facility at the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Hospital were the last to be visited.
A visibly elated Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor (MCE), in an interview with the media, paid glowing tribute to the Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Mensah, for her initiatives and lobbying skills in bringing such huge developmental projects to the municipality.
He said the municipality has benefited a lot and the Municipal Assembly, would do all in its power to see to the completion of all the projects.
Hon Patrick Kumor ended by saying that more developmental projects have been earmarked for the other parts of the municipality in the coming months.
