WGMA/EU Organize Sensitization Durbar In Gbawe

The Network for Accountable Governance (NAG) members in the Gbawe Electoral Area have organised a rate payer sensitization durbar.

The NAG, a requirement of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly and the European Union (WGMA/EU) partnership, organised the event at the Royal Faith Ministry International, on Tuesday 27th August 2019.

The special guest of honour was the Dzaasetse of the Gbawe Kwatei Family, Nii Laryea Quartey.

The Municipal Budget Officer, Miss Bless Adadzekor and the Senior Accountant, Mr Wilson Adade of the Municipal Assembly were there to explain the Assembly's mandate for revenue collection and rate payers' role in the development of the municipality.

Participants were, also, taken through the processes of building permit acquisition by the Municipal Senior Engineer, Ing Godwin Kaleshi.

Mr Victor Adom Mensah, Municipal Procurement  Officer presented visuals of projects undertaken by the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.

Comments, questions and suggestions from the participants were welcomed and dealt with by the Municipal Officers.

Giving his closing remarks, Nii Laryea Quartey reminded all of the need to pay their rates and also pay land rent to the Gbawe Land Secretariat.

At the end of the durbar, participants expressed satisfaction at the exposition they had been given.
