MP, MCE Inspect Projects In Weija-Gbawe

As part of their usual monitoring exercise, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Health Minister, Hon. Tina Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, undertook an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the municipality.
The project tour, on Thursday, 13th January 2022, took the duo and their team to four (4) electoral areas, New Weija East, New Weija West, McCarthy-Hill South, and Gbawe East.
They were accompanied by the Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Oduro Ampaw, the Coordinating Director (MCD), Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe, Finance Officer (MFO), Mrs. Grace Ahlibi, some departmental heads, and other members of staff of the Municipal Assembly.
The team first visited the New Weija East electoral area where drains have been constructed, funded through the One Constituency, One Million Dollars program.
The Roads Engineer, Ing. Daniel Sowah led the team through the area as he explained some issues.
New Weija West electoral area, where a motorable bridge is being constructed to link Old and New Weija, was the next point of call.
The engineers and workers of Asabea Construction Limited, the contractors, were busily working to complete the project on schedule.
The Mayas to Sunny Coast enclave, a 3-kilometer stretch of drains and roads was also visited.
Woman, a community in the McCarthy-Hill South electoral area, has a new ultra-modern clinic, an initiative of the MP, which is being constructed and was also toured.
The contractor, Rosehill Ghana Ltd, assured the team of completion ahead of schedule.
The last point of call was the Gbawe East electoral area, where a structure is built on a road, which was demolished.
In separate interviews with the media, both the MP and the MCE expressed satisfaction at the extent of work at all the project sites.
They promised to initiate more projects in the municipality to bring more development to the communities.
However, they were not happy with the way construction of some private properties was being put up with impunity.
They promised to bring sanity into that system.
