MCE cuts sod for Abattoir.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, have jointly cut the sod for the commencement of the construction of a modern abattoir in Gbawe.
The ultra modern abattoir, a partnership between the European Union (EU) and the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, which will also house a feed mill and a breeding centre, is expected to be completed in twelve (12) months.
The event was attended by heads of departments, staff and members of the community.
Welcoming the two personalities to the event, Nii Kwatei Quartey, a principal elder of the Gbawe Kwatei Family, said the chiefs and elders of Gbawe were very happy to host an ultra modern abattoir.
He said, like other projects, completed and in progress, they were truly thankful to the President, the Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and the Municipal Chief Executive.
Speaking to the chiefs and elders of Gbawe at the ground breaking ceremony on Friday, 13th December 2019, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor (MCE), was full of praise for the development partner (EU) for their commitment to the project.
He , also thanked the management of Organisation for Livelihood Enhancement Service (OLIVES), the facilitators of the partnership for the assistance to the project.
Hon Patrick Kumor (MCE) said he hoped with the completion of the project, employment will be created for the teeming youth in the municipality.
As usual of him, he asked for value for money.
He ended by thanking the chiefs and elders of Gbawe for making land available for the project.
On her part, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah (MP) said the people Gbawe should be thankful for enjoying a huge chunk of developmental projects in the municipality.
She was, however, not too pleased with the turnout of the chiefs and elders of Gbawe to such a historic and memorable event.
Hon Tina Mensah (MP) said she would continue to lobby for more developmental projects in the municipality.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Mercy Quansah, in closing remarks, thanked all for defying the rain to be witnesses of the event.
