Sod has been cut for the construction of eight hundred (800) metres long drains at New Gbawe.
The ceremony was performed on Monday, 14th January 2019, jointly by the Member of Parliament (MP)for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah, and the Municipal Chief Executive of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kumor.
In a short address, Hon Tina Mensah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Health, said promises are meant to be kept, and one of such redemption of a promise has been witnessed. She asked members of the community to collaborate with the contractors for a good result.
Hon Patrick Kumor(MCE), asked the people to own the project and ensure proper maintenance. He reminded the contractors that he is always in search of value for money.
The MCE asked the people to pay their rates to enable the Assembly to bring more development to the municipality.
A representative of the contractors pledged to complete the project and hand over before schedule.
Mr George Nsaki, a resident, said they were so happy to see the commencement of the project.
