The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly has been adjudged as one of the best ten (10) performing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in social services (KPA 5), in Greater Accra in the 2020 Local Government Service Performance Contract Assessment.
Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, was, also, adjudged as one of the best ten (10) outstanding and performing MCEs in the Greater Accra Region for the year 2020.
At an awards ceremony held at the AH Hotel, East Legon on Wednesday, 20th October 2021, the award-winning MMDAs were honored with citations.
The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly was represented by the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE), Hon. Patrick Kumor, the Presiding Member, Hon. Emmanuel Oduro Ampaw, and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe.
The special guest of honor was the Chief of Staff, Hon. Frema Opare, who was assisted by the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Collins Ntim (MP).
The Head of the Local Government Service, Nana Dr. Ato Arthur, and some members of the Council of State, were, also, present.
Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) dedicated the award to the Assembly Members, heads of departments, and staff of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly. He described them as 'a wonderful team'.
He mentioned Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, for her invaluable contributions to the Assembly.
