MCE Receives Residents Association

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kumor, on Tuesday 2nd November 2021, received executives of a residents' association in his office.

The group, from the Central Osrodja Residents' Association in the Gbawe East Electoral Area, was led by Ing. Lankwei Ashong Lamptey.

It included the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Godfred Adjei Laryea, Mr. Adotey Hoffman, the current chairman, and Mr. Thompson, the immediate past chairman.

Ing. Ashong Lamptey, who was the spokesman, first congratulated Hon. Kumor (MCE) on his reappointment and pledged the association's support at all times.

He lamented on the indiscriminate disposal of waste and the grinding of pepper in the night in the community.

These, he said, have been brought to the attention of the Assembly but nothing seems to have come out of it.

He said that a bulldozer has been seen in their community working to expand the roads. It has,  rather, worsened the state of the roads.

Their investigations revealed that the Gbawe stool had acquired the machine for the works in a bid to rezoning the area.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) acknowledged their congratulatory message and assured them of his resolve to assist them wherever possible.

He announced the resumption of works on some roads in the enclave, which he said would start by the first quarter of next year.

He said the main challenge of the municipality is the state of roads that are being tackled.

Ing. Ashong Lamptey thanked the MCE for agreeing to receive them at such short notice.

Julius Sarpei,

PRO, Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.
