WGMA undertakes Health Screening.
 
The Weija-Gbawe Municipal AIDS Committee has organized a voluntary HIV/AIDS counseling and testing exercise.
 
It was undertaken to achieve the 90-90-90 target set by UNAIDS.  The target set are;
1. By 2020, 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status.
2. By 2020, 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy.
3. By 2020, 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.
 
It was organized, primarily, for the inhabitants of the municipality and the staff of the Municipal Assembly.
 
The health screening exercise also included blood pressure, body mass index, sugar test(RBS & FBS) and malaria tests.
 
The exercise which took place on Friday, 7th December 2018, at the forecourt of the Institute of Technical Studies (ITS) was undertaken alongside the Farmers Day Celebration.
 
A total of eighty-six people took part in the exercise.
