MCE Interacts with Wiaboman Community.
As part of his community engagement programme, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, on Sunday 8th December 2019, visited the Wiaboman community in the McCarthy-Hill Electoral Area.
The MCE was accompanied by the Municipal Environmental Officer, Mrs Patience Akasraku and the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Mrs Solace Akomeah.
The Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah also took the opportunity to address members of the community.
The chief of Wiaboman, Nii Wiabo and his elders were not left out.
The occasion was also used to inaugurate the Wiaboman Landlords Association.
Speaking to the gathering, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor (MCE), said a lot of developmental projects have been lined up for the Wiaboman community.
He said, soon a police post would be mounted in the community. The roads in the community would also be tarred.
He said the environmental officials have been in interactions with them for efficient and effective sanitary conditions in the community.
The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) would extend portable water to the community.
Hon Patrick Kumor ended by asking the community to pay their rates and permits to enable the Assembly bring more development to the community.
Hon Tina Mensah (MP), on her part, said the contract for the clinic in Wiaboman had been awarded. Issues with land have been resolved, so the project would take off.
She, however, cautioned the artisans who might be engaged on the project site to comport themselves and work assiduously to ensure that the project is executed professionally.
The Member of Parliament said developmental projects sometimes come with loss of property to a few. She urged them to, in the spirit of general wellbeing of the community, bear with the authorities.
The chief of Wiaboman, Nii Wiabo ll, in his closing remarks, thanked both the MP and the MCE for taking time off their busy schedules to have such educative interactions with them.
