REPORT ON EARTHQUAKE AND TREMOR
INTRODUCTION
Earthquakes and earth tremors are the most disastrous of all natural calamities which catches life and property in the shortest possible time. The recent tremor that happened on the 9th of December 2018 brought panic to the people leaving at the earthquake prone zones and for that reason the entire management of The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in collaboration with the Ghana education service has taken it upon themselves to go to the various schools within the district to educate the children about tremors and earthquakes and how they can go about such disaster should incase it happens.
The children were thought some basic things they should do when such disaster occurs. The first thing is for them to drop to the ground and hold the neck and the head, take cover by getting under a study table or other piece of furniture and hold on until the shaking stops.
They were taught that if there isn’t any table or desk around they should just cover their face and head with their arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building they find themselves in.
