The Network for Accountable Governance (NAG), a social accountability aspect of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly/ European Union partnership, has completed its fourth quarter monitoring of projects in the municipality.
The two-day exercise, from 7th to 8th November 2019, took the team to five (5) out of the seven (7) electoral areas in the municipality.
Accompanied by the Municipal Planning Coordinating Unit (MPCU) of the Municipal Assembly and officials of Organisation for Livelihood Enhancement Services (OLIVES), the first day took the team to the Weija Presbyterian Basic School where an ultra modern kindergarten (KG) block is being built from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF). The project is still at its initial stages with work about thirty (30%) percent completed.
The Oblogo MA Basic School was the next stop. Another KG block, which is seventy (70%) percent completed, is being built from the DACF.
The last visit for the day was the almost completed ultra modern clinic at Tetegu.
Day two (2) was for the newly constructed drains and roads at Top Base.
The monitoring team concluded its work at the Lafa bridge construction site.
Speaking to the media after the tour, leaders of the NAG expressed satisfaction at what they saw and commended the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly for giving them the opportunity to be social accountants of projects in the municipality.
