People with disabilities (PWD) on Wednesday, 12th December 2018, received various items from the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.
The items were deep freezers, transparent fridge, corn mill, water pumping machine, roofing sheets and boards, assorted drinks and cash.
The beneficiaries, seventeen of them, were taken through a training session to get them equipped for the various businesses they would be engaged in.
Mrs Emma Odame of the Business Advisory Centre took them through the training session.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, advised them to take good care of the items as they served as startup capital for them.
Hon Kumor, later, accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Mercy Quansah and the Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Mrs Nancy Partey, presented the items to each and everyone of the beneficiaries.
In an interview with one of the beneficiaries, Mr Sackey, he thanked the government, the Municipal Assembly and especially the MCE for the kind gesture. He advised other PWD to avail themselves to such opportunities and stop begging on the streets.
