MCE gives ultimatum to squatters
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kumor, today 29th October 2018, gave squatters along the Tetegu stretch of the Winneba Road an ultimatum to remove their structures.
The ultimatum, also affected mechanics and cattle rearers who have illegally occupied the Assembly's lands earmarked for a ramseyer site.
The squatters have been given up to the 15th January 2019 to vacate the occupied places.
The MCE was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Mercy Quansah, the Municipal Works Engineer, Ing William Okpoti and other staff of the Assembly.
In an interview, Hon Patrick Kumor said the Assembly wants to give the operation a ' human face' hence his involvement in the exercise. He added that the Assembly would be proactive in all its activities and would not allow a few people to derail it.
The MCE said the Assembly would engage a number of agencies and investors to explore the possibility of turning the sites into income generating ventures.
The exercise took the team to Tetegu, Mallam junction and Borlar Road.
