Massive Cleanup in Weija/Gbawe
A massive cleanup exercise was organised this morning at Mallam junction and other parts of the Municipality.
Today's exercise, arguably the largest cleanup, saw a very huge number of participants.
The program was jointly organized by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Weija/Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kumor and the Member of Parliament for Weija/Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Mensah.
The cleanup today, 20th October 2018, started as early as 6am and ended around noon.
In attendance were the staff of the Municipal Assembly, Party executives, constituents, Zoomlion, executives of the lorry station at Mallam junction and party faithfuls.
Present also, were some Assembly Members and ace singer, Madam Akosua Agyepong, who is an Ambassador for Sanitation.
In an interview, the MCE re-echoed the President's aim of making Accra the cleanest city.
He went on to say that this exercise would not be the the first and the last. He advised residents to ensure proper disposal of waste in their environs.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Mercy Quansah, added her voice to the call on residents to keep clean surroundings and be each other's keeper.
