MCE presents 300 quality desks to schools

The Municipal Chief Executive for Weija/Gbawe Municipal Municipality, today 12th October 2018, presented three hundred (300) desks to schools in the Municipality.

The desks comprise of two hundred (200) mono and one hundred (100) dual desks.

This morning's presentation augments an earlier donation made by Hon Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, Weija-Gbawe Member of Parliament and Deputy Health Minister to the Oblogo M/A 2&3 Schools last year.

In presenting the desks, the MCE re-echoed the President's priority towards education. He also spoke about steps being taken to address the infrastructure and logistics deficits in the Municipality.

Hon. Kumor entreated both teachers and pupils to take good care of the desks to promote education.

The desks were received on behalf of the Education Directorate by Mrs Felicia Agyeibea Okai, Municipal Education Director. She thanked the MCE and assured him of their commitment to uphold good maintenance culture.

In an interview, she expressed pleasant surprise at the swift response by the MCE to grant their request. She said, like Oliver Twist, they are asking for more.

Present at the presentation were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Mercy Quansah, other Heads of Departments and staff of the Assembly.
